Alappuzha: The accused in woman police officer Soumya’s death at Vallikkunnam in Mavelikkara, Ajas succumbed to injuries. The Ajas was CPO in Aluva station was suspended yesterday for committing this crime.
More than 50% of burns were caused by Ajas kidney and lung function. Meanwhile, the burial of Soumya, who was killed by Ajas, will take place Thursday at Vallikkunnu. Ajas had told the magistrate that her refusal to marry him had led to the murder. Ajas said in the statement that he had caught the fire after setting Soumya to fire.
Soumya’s son had said that he was responsible for any incident. The police had confirmed they were friends. Earlier, Ernakulam Rural District Police had suspended Ajas. The action was based on a report by the investigating team. SP K Karthik also said that a departmental inquiry will be held into the role of Ajas in the murder.
