Vizhinjam strike: Govt withdraws 157 cases

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has withdrawn the cases registered in the 2022 strike against the construction of Vizhinjam Adani International Port.

A total of 199 cases were registered. The government has decided to withdraw 157 cases which are not serious. The government took the decision to withdraw the cases on the basis of various requests received for withdrawal of these cases

After the strike, there was violence at the police station and others including the bishop were accused. The decision to withdraw the cases is in the context of the Lok Sabha elections. The Latin Catholic Church has requested this many times.
