In the Venjaramoodu massacre case, accused Afan has been shifted from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College to jail. Afan was taken to Poojappura Central Jail. Currently, Afan’s arrest has been recorded in three cases. In this, the arrest was recorded yesterday in the case of murdering Afan’s younger brother and girlfriend Farsana.
Venjaramoodu CI Anoop clarified that the arrest in the case of murdering his father’s elder brother and elder sister will be recorded after taking them into custody. Earlier, Pangod police had recorded an arrest in the case of murdering Afan’s paternal grandmother.
Meanwhile, the police found that the financial burden on the family in the Venjaramoodu massacre that shook the Kerala led to the massacre. The police concluded based on the statement of accused Afan. Afan told the police that he had a debt of about Rs 65 lakh. However, Afan’s father Abdul Rahim denies this. Abdul Rahim’s statement to the police stated that he had a liability of Rs 15 lakh, including bank loans and other debts. However, this was not disclosed to the family.
Meanwhile, Afan’s mother Shameena also gave a statement before the magistrate, concealing the fact that her son had attacked her. She reiterated in her statement that she had fallen from the bed and was injured. The police hope to be able to take a statement from Shameem, who is recover-ing.
