Kozhikode: Traffic control at Thamarassery pass from 11 pm on Thursday. The Collector of Kozhikode informed that a ban has been imposed on vehicles from Adivaram to Wayanad district through the pass and vice versa. The restriction is because HGB Goons trucks have been allowed to go to Nanchankot via Thamarassery Pass. The District Collector informed that the public should take alternative means of travel during the said time.
The lorries reached the foothills on September 10 with huge machines. These have been stopped at Adivaram for more than three months. The district administration had stopped the journey after realizing that transporting these through the pass would cause traffic jams.
Annamalai Transport Company officials have produced documents such as affidavit, demand draft of Rs 20 lakh, Ministry of Road Transport Authority certificate etc. With this permission was given to travel through the pass.
