Relief for CM and daughter; No vigilance investigation in monthly salary case, petitions dismissed

Kochi: The High Court has dismissed the petitions seeking a vigilance investigation against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena Vijayan in the CMRL-Exalogic deal. The petitions were filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadan and Girish Babu. The Income Tax Settlement Board had found that CMRL had paid compensation to Veena’s company Exalogic for services not provided in the deal.

The allegations are that she misused her position as the Chief Minister’s daughter to receive a monthly salary. The demand was for an investigation based on that.

The petitions sought to quash the Vigilance Court order that rejected the demand for an investigation and direct the court to take a fresh decision.
