The state will now have a digital RC instead of the RC book of vehicles. The Transport Department is planning to stop printing registration certificates from March. Instead, the vehicle can be downloaded from the RC Parivahan website within hours of purchasing the vehicle. If you buy a vehicle, there will be no long wait for the registration certificate. The special feature is that the RC can be downloaded from the Parivahan website within hours of completing the registration.
The Transport Department is planning to stop printing registration certificates by March. With this, Kerala is moving from RC book to digital RC. Along with this, all services related to registration will now be Aadhaar-based.
Aadhaar will also be required for changing ownership, adding loans, and canceling loans. The new decision is aimed at preventing fraud. Whoever owns the vehicle should also enter their mobile number in their Aadhaar in the RC. Vehicle owners should ensure that the number linked to Aadhaar is given in the RC. This can be changed through the Motor Vehicles Department’s Parivahan website or through Akshaya. For those who are unable to do so, a special counter has been set up at the RTO office until the 28th.
