Mofiya Parveen commits suicide; the Accused’s bail plea was rejected

Kochi: The Ernakulam Sessions Court has rejected the bail plea of the accused in the suicide case of law student Mofia Parveen in Aluva. Mofia’s husband Suhail and his parents’ petition was rejected. They claimed that they were not responsible for Mofia’s suicide and that it was the misconduct of the police.

However, the prosecution has said that it is trying to find evidence by scientifically examining Suhail’s mobile phone and that bail should not be granted. The suicide case of law student Mofia Parveen was handed over to the Ernakulam Rural District Crime Branch yesterday. According to the remand report, Mofia Parveen was tortured at her husband’s house.
