Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Veena George has said that the portal of the Women and Child Development Department for reporting dowry-related complaints is fully operational. This portal is an innovative initiative to report and prevent dowry-related atrocities in Kerala. The portal was dedicated to Kerala by the Chief Minister on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Complaints can be made online at http://wcd.kerala.gov.in/dowry. It also allows you to take action online.
The Dowry Prohibition Officer will contact the complainant within three working days of receiving the application. The information will be kept confidential. The Minister also requested that this facility be utilized to eradicate dowry from the state. Received registrations will be forwarded to the District Dowry Prohibition Officer. Depending on the jurisdiction chosen by each, an inquiry will be held and a notice will be issued. Police will provide assistance and legal assistance if needed.
