Idukki: One person died after a KSRTC bus overturned at Chakochi Valavu near Idukki Cheeyappara. Sajeev, a resident of Kulamanguzhi, has died. Many people were injured in the accident. They were admitted to hospitals in Adimali and Kothamangalam.
The KSRTC bus traveling from Munnar to Ernakulam met with an accident at 5 am on Monday. The bus overturned on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway near Adimali Cheeyappara. Driver G. Parameswaran said that while giving side to the private bus, the front left tire fell on the road and fell down.
The police, fire force and local people immediately reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. Palakal Sajeev Joseph, a resident of Valara Kulamanguzhi, died due to serious injuries. The injured, including the driver and conductor, were admitted to hospitals.
Three people were admitted to a hospital in Adimali and others were admitted to a hospital in Kothamangalam. About sixty people including school students and staff were on the bus.
