Kerala Child Rights Commission Takes Suo Moto Cognizance of Student Death

Kollam: The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken suo moto cognizance of the death of a 13-year-old Class 8 student named Mithun, who died after coming in contact with a live wire at Thevalakkara Boys’ School. The incident occurred when the boy climbed a cycle shed to retrieve his shoe and slipped, falling onto an exposed electric line.

Though teachers rushed him to the hospital after disconnecting power, he could not be saved. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
