Kannur: In Vadakara, 23 students have been confirmed to be infected with jaundice. Students sought treatment in Villyapalli, Ayanchery, Tiruvallur, Maniyur, Velam and Vadakara municipality. Following the incident, the health workers collected water from the shops where the children had eaten and the shops where they had bought zip-ups, water from the school well, etc. for testing. Meanwhile, a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was also diagnosed with amoebic encephalitis in Kannur. Following this, the student who was undergoing treatment at Kannur Medical College was transferred from there to Kozhikode Medical College. Relatives said that this child was bathing in the stream near the house.
