Thiruvananthapuram: There is a possibility of heavy rain in the state today. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in all the districts of Kerala during the next three hours. A yellow alert was issued in eight districts.
The yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts. Coastal areas are prone to high tides and high tides until 11.30 pm. At the same time, fishing and going to the sea are not prohibited.
Authorities have warned people to stay away from dangerous areas as the sea is likely to intensify. Officials also suggested that trips to the beach and recreational activities at sea should be avoided altogether.
