Kannur: It is reported that one of the accused in the murder of CPM activist Haridasan (54) in Punnol Thazhevayal is the accused in the Kodakara pipe money case.
With the involvement of Haridasan in the murder case of the accused in the Kodakara case, which thwarted the BJP state leadership itself, the police have extended the probe to more areas.
Earlier, it was reported that some people involved in the Rs 1.5 crore money laundering case in Kodakara were also involved in the Haridasan murder case. Nikhil and Deepu, who were part of the gang that killed Haridasan, are yet to be arrested.
Following the report that the two are in Chennai, the Kerala Police is camping in Chennai and conducting a search. Another person, Atmajan, has been taken into police custody in the case. He is being questioned.
The number of accused in the conspiracy case is likely to increase further. Earlier, four people, including BJP constituency president K Lijesh, were arrested.
The four have been remanded in police custody and are being questioned. They will be produced in court today. Twelve people have been arrested so far in the case.
