Governor’s show cause notice is illegal; VCs approached High Court

Kochi: VCs approached the High Court. Seven VCs approached the High Court questioning the Chancellor’s show cause notice. The High Court will consider the petition today.

The VCs say in the petition that the chancellor has no power to ask for reasons for not expelling. Dismissal can only be done if an investigation is carried out and the wrongdoing is found. Therefore, the Chancellor’s show cause notice is illegal. The VCs also demand the cancellation of this notice.

Meanwhile, the High Court will today reconsider the petition filed by 15 members challenging Governor Arif Muhammad Khan’s decision to expel him from the Kerala University Senate.
