Thiruvananthapuram: Due to the presence of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the state today and tomorrow, the Meteorological Department has warned. The Meteorological Department has announced orange alert in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Thrissur districts today. Yellow alert has also been announced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.
As a result of the impact of the cyclone, there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state till Sunday. On Friday, except for Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, there is a rain warning. Yellow alert is in effect in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts on Saturday and Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts on Sunday.
