Big gold hunt at Karipur airport

Karipur: A huge gold hunt by customs at Karipur airport. Two employees of Indigo Airlines were arrested in the case of trying to smuggle 4.9 kg of gold worth 2.5 crore rupees. Huge gold smuggling busted in Karipur airport by customs. The Air Customs Intelligence Department seized 4.9 kg of gold mixture which was tried to be smuggled out with the help of Indigo airline staff.

The gold was hidden in the luggage brought by the passenger who came from Dubai on an Indigo flight on 12th morning. The passenger did not come to collect this luggage. The luggage was in the name of a native of Wayanad.

The luggage was held suspiciously by customs for re-inspection. Meanwhile, Customs has checked the CCTV footage.Indigo Airline Senior Executive Ramp Supervisor Sajid Rahman and Customer Service Agent Samil were then arrested.Sajid Rahman was questioned after discovering his suspicious movements. The arrest followed. The gold mixture worth Rs 2.5 crore was hidden in cloth etc. Customs informed that further investigation is going on.
