Kozhikode: Huge gold rush at Karipur airport. Three people including a woman were detained by customs. Customs seized more than 3 kg of gold worth over Rs 1 crore.
Customs seized the gold from Jamsheed, a native of Malappuram, Bushra, a native of Wayanad, and Abdul Shamil, a native of Kozhikode, who came from Sharjah. 1054 grams of gold was seized from Jamsheed while trying to smuggle gold mixture by hiding it in secret parts of the body. 1077 grams of gold was found in Bushra. They tried to smuggle gold by hiding it inside their clothes. Abdul Sham was also trying to smuggle gold by hiding it in secret places. 679 grams of the gold mixture was seized from him.
