Kochi: The government has appointed a new prosecutor in the case of attacking the actress. Advocate VN Anilkumar will be the Special Prosecutor in the case. The appointment order will be issued later. The action was taken following the resignation of Advocate A Suresan.
A Suresan resigned after his request to change the trial court was rejected. The new appointment order will be handed over to the court on Friday when the case will be reconsidered. Earlier, the High Court and the Supreme Court had rejected the plea of the government and the actress to change the trial court.
The government argued in court that the court was acting in a discriminatory manner.
