30 kg of fish mixed with formalin was seized

Adoor: Food safety officials destroyed 30 kg of fish mixed with formalin from a fish shop at Enadimangalam Puthuval Junction in Adoor.

The Department of Food Safety seized and destroyed 66 kg of fish contaminated with formalin from elsewhere. The fish was found to be contaminated with formalin during a joint inspection by the Food Safety Department and the Fisheries Department at fish markets at Adoor Bypass and Nellimuttil Padi.

The test was conducted using the mobile food testing lab system of Pathanamthitta district. Samples were collected from various fish markets for testing.
