Kerala Declares Public Holiday Tomorrow in Honor of Former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has declared a three-day official mourning period as a mark of respect for former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan. A public holiday has been announced for tomorrow, July 22.

On this day, all government offices, educational institutions, public sector undertakings, and autonomous bodies will remain closed. Banks will also observe the holiday. As part of the mourning, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on government buildings.

Following V.S. Achuthanandan’s demise, all examinations scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed. The Calicut University Students’ Union election, originally planned for July 22, has been rescheduled to July 26.
