GURUVAYUR: Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan visited the renowned Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple today to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. Arriving at the temple premises around 7:00 AM, this marked his first visit to Guruvayur after assuming the office of Chief Minister.
Grand Reception by Devaswom Board
The Chief Minister was warmly received by the temple authorities. Guruvayur Devaswom Chairman A.V. Gopinath and Administrator O.B. Arunkumar led the official reception. As a mark of respect, the Devaswom Chairman honored the Chief Minister by draping him with a traditional Ponnada (ceremonial shawl).
71 Kg Butter for Thulabharam Offering
After offering his prayers to the deity, CM Satheesan performed the sacred Thulabharam ritual. The offering was made using butter, requiring exactly 71 kilograms to match his body weight.
Known to be a devout follower who makes it a habit to visit the Guruvayur Temple once a month, the Chief Minister expressed immense spiritual satisfaction after completing his darshan and rituals.
Attends Revenue Minister’s Son’s Wedding
Following his early morning temple visit, the Chief Minister proceeded to attend the wedding ceremony of the son of Kerala’s Revenue Minister, A.P. Anil Kumar.
