Six years for first-class entry; The Center asked the states to implement the order

New Delhi: The states have again been instructed to strictly implement the central government order which made six years compulsory for first-class admission. The Union Ministry of Education has again issued the directive in the context of many states including Kerala not implementing this.
Only central schools in Kerala have implemented the six-year rule.

In government-aided schools and CBSE schools etc. in the state, which follows the state syllabus, admission to first class takes place at the age of five.

The admission process for the next academic year has already started in many schools. It is in this context that the Center has instructed the states to strictly implement the six-year age norm.
