Chandigarh: Drone presence in Punjab again. The drone was found in the Pathankot district. The drone was spotted by BSF jawans while patrolling the border. The soldiers then opened fire on the drone. The drone was reported to have returned to the Pakistani side soon after.

Pathankot Senior Superintendent of Police Gulneet Singh Khurana told national media that the drone was spotted in the Bhamipal area near the Dinda post on the India-Pakistan international border. He said the drone had inspected the Indian border for any material but could not find any. Military sources said security in the area had been beefed up following the discovery of the drone’s presence.

Security forces recovered a cache of explosives from a drone in Punjab last December. Security forces recovered 11 hand grenades from Gurdaspur in Punjab. Gurdaspur is located close to the Pakistan border. The grenades were placed in a wooden box tied with nylon thread and deposited down from the drone. Pakistan is also trying to monitor the Indian border using Chinese drones.
