Actor Trisha became the center of attention at the grand swearing-in ceremony of Thalapathy Vijay as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Arriving at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, Trisha looked incredibly beautiful in a deeply traditional avatar. Visuals of the actor from the historic oath-taking ceremony have since gone viral across social media platforms.
Trisha opted for a soft aqua-blue Kanjivaram silk saree featuring rich gold zari borders, paired with a matching embroidered beige-gold blouse. Fully embracing the classic South Indian festive look, she styled her hair in a sleek low bun beautifully adorned with fresh jasmine flowers (malli poo). She accessorized with a striking diamond and ruby choker, matching drop earrings, delicate bangles, and a statement ring. Before leaving her Chennai residence for the venue, Trisha told the media that she was eagerly “looking forward” to witnessing the historic moment.
Earlier, Trisha’s visit to the Tirupati temple on the day the election results were announced had sparked widespread discussions. Although the visit coincided with her 43rd birthday on May 4, rumors quickly spread that she was there to pray for the victory of Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Fans had also previously pointed out her subtle show of support when she shared an Instagram post featuring a background track from their hit film Ghilli after casting her vote on April 23.
Vijay’s TVK scripted a historic victory in Tamil Nadu by securing 108 seats, effectively defeating the Dravidian giants DMK and AIADMK, who have dominated the state’s political landscape since the late 1960s. Trisha’s graceful presence undoubtedly added an extra touch of charm to the cinematic and monumental swearing-in event.
