Cyclone formed: Thunderstorm likely in state, orange alert in 2 districts including Wayanad

Thiruvananthapuram: A cyclone has formed over the southeast Arabian Sea and south Kerala coast.

A low pressure area is also located above Konkan up to 1.5 km height. As a result of this, the Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of moderate to moderate rains with widespread thunderstorms in Kerala for the next 5 days.

According to the Central Meteorological Department, isolated areas are likely to experience very heavy rains from August 15 to 17 and heavy rains from August 15 to 19. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts in various districts.

Today, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts are on orange alert. Orange alert has been announced in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts tomorrow and Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts on Saturday.
