KANNUR: Authorities in Kerala have invoked the stringent Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA/KAPPA) against Arjun Ayanki following his involvement in multiple criminal offenses over the past seven years.
District Collector P. Vishnuraj approved the preventive detention order based on a comprehensive recommendation submitted by the Kannur City Police Commissioner.
Arjun Ayanki has been named as an accused in 9 criminal cases recorded over a span of seven years.
District authorities noted that Ayanki poses a potential threat to public safety. As he is currently in judicial custody, authorities concluded that if released on bail, there is a strong likelihood he would engage in further criminal activity.
The police have been directed to formally execute his arrest under the KAPPA order and present him before the Superintendent of the Kannur Central Jail for preventive detention.
