The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has lodged a formal complaint with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs against Flipkart and Amitabh Bachchan for a promotional advertisement related to the upcoming Big Billion Days sale. The advertisement, which was broadcast in Hindi by Flipkart, featured Amitabh Bachchan stating that the mobile deals offered by Flipkart would not be available at retail outlets.

CAIT has expressed its disappointment with the advertisement and has written to Amitabh Bachchan to convey its concerns regarding the misleading claims made in the advertisement. The organization has also informed him that the advertisement has not been well-received by India’s retailers. CAIT acknowledges that Flipkart and Amazon entered the Indian market with the intention of disrupting the traditional retail industry.

Flipkart has since made the advertisement private on YouTube. The Big Billion Days sale is scheduled to commence on October 8 and conclude on October 15.
