Mexico: A strong earthquake hit in south-central Mexico.7.4 recorded on the Richter scale. Six people died. Many people were injured and heavily damaged. The epicenter of the quake was in the state of Oaxaca, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake was felt around 10.30 am local time on Tuesday. Social media is spreading the spectacle of houses and buildings shaking and people running out of houses in fear. Reports are continuing that the rescue operation is ongoing.
Road traffic was disrupted in many parts of Oaxaca City following the quake. Images of damaged buildings have been circulating on social media. Propaganda footage shows that buildings have been severely damaged in the epicenter of the quake and the nearby hill villages.
