Election defeat: Sidhu resigns as Punjab Congress president

Amritsar: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned as the chairperson of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Congress president Sonia Gandhi has urged the resignation of the defeated Congress leaders. The Congress High Command yesterday demanded the resignation of the presidents of five states who had performed poorly in the Assembly elections.
