Permission for hijab; College in Karnataka repeals uniform law

Mysore: Management has repealed the Uniform Act to allow hijab in a private college in Mysore. This is the first time in Karnataka that a college has allowed hijab after the hijab ban. College action against student protest against hijab ban.

DK Srinivasa Murthy, Deputy Director, Pre-University Education, Mysore, said that four students had protested against not being allowed to wear the hijab in class and were later given the opportunity to study in college by removing the college’s rule on the uniform.
