No ban on places of worship on Sundays in the state: Attukal Pongala can be held at homes, only 200 people in the temple premises

Thiruvananthapuram: The ban imposed due to the expansion of covid on places of worship on Sunday was lifted. The decision was taken at the covid review meeting. The ban was imposed on places of worship in C-category districts. Due to the lockdown on Sunday, ceremonies at places of worship were restricted. Now ceremonies can be held at places of worship on Sundays. Only 20 people will be allowed. KCBC and various Christian organizations have called on the government to lift restrictions on places of worship. The review meeting decided to propose to hold Attukal Pongala in houses and to allow only 200 people in the temple premises. Four districts have been excluded from the C category, which is currently under strict control. Kottayam, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pathanamthitta districts were excluded. Currently, only the Kollam district is in the C category.
Colleges are scheduled to open on the 7th of this month and schools on the 14th. With the spread of the third wave of covid, classes one to nine were moved online.
