Rain warning in all districts in Kerala; Orange alert in three places, three died in Gulab Cyclone

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are likely in the state as a result of cyclone Gulab which formed in the Bay of Bengal. Fishing is prohibited off the coasts of Kerala and Lakshadweep.

An orange alert has been declared in three districts and a yellow alert in 11 districts. The orange alert was issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur districts.

The cyclone made landfall last night. The wind, which is currently blowing at a speed of 75 to 85 kilometers per hour, is likely to strengthen again. Heavy rains continue in northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha.

Meanwhile, the death toll from cyclone Gulab has risen to three. 46-year-old killed in Odisha house collapse. Heavy rains continue in the northern districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Konkan region also receives heavy rainfall.
