New Delhi: The ICMR-National Institute of Virology in Pune has announced that the country will start vaccinating children by September. Bharat Biotech’s covaxin trial for children aged 2 to 18 years is in two and three phases is in progress. “Once the test trial completed successfully, vaccination can begin immediately,” ICMR-National Institute of Virology director Dr. Priya Abraham told the national media.
In addition, it is hoped that the DNA vaccine of Zydus Cadila will be available soon. Dr. Priya said that the M-RNA vaccine of Genoa Biopharmaceuticals Ltd., the biological-E vaccine, the Novovax vaccine of the Serum Institute of India, and the intra-nasal vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech are also ready for distribution.
