Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police transferred more than 500 cops in the wake of the hooch tragedy in the state. More than 540 police personnel posted at the lease station have been relocated. Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani said that 148 of them were relocated outside of districts.
Five police inspectors suspected of links to the liquor mafia and two station house employees and a circle officer were suspended. Police intensified the inquiry in this regard. The relatives of the hooch mafia head Rishi Sharma were arrested, SSP said.
