Oxygen shortage worsens: 25 deaths in Delhi, Amritsar; 200 people in critical condition

New Delhi: At least 25 people have died in various hospitals in Delhi and Amritsar due to lack of oxygen. Moolchand, Saroj, and Jaipur Golden Hospital are the worst hit. At least 20 people have died at the Gordon Hospital in Jaipur. The condition of the 200 people being treated there is critical.

Five people have died due to lack of oxygen at Neil Hospital in Amritsar. There has been an oxygen shortage for 48 hours. Even in this situation, the central government is unable to deliver oxygen.

Moolchand Hospital officials said the oxygen supply would be depleted within an hour. A temporary tank of oxygen arrived at Batra Hospital. Officials say there is only enough oxygen to use for 45 minutes. Admission of patients to Saroj Hospital in Delhi has been stopped.

At the same time, the number of daily Covid patients rose again to close to three and a half million. In 24 hours, 3,46,786 Covid cases were reported. 2,624 deaths were also reported.
Covid has so far confirmed 1,66,10,481 people in the country. 1,38,67,997 people were cured. Covid infection killed 1,89,544 people. Currently, 25,52,940 people are being treated for the disease.
