Valayar case: High court directs state government to hand over documents to CBI within 10 days

Kochi: The high court directed the state government to hand over the documents in the Valayar case to the CBI within ten days. The High Court also directed the CBI to take over the investigation as soon as possible. The court ruled in favor of the mother of a girl who died under mysterious circumstances after being raped in Valayar.

The mother of the girls in Valayar had approached the court alleging irregularities in the state government’s notification for the CBI probe.

The state government had earlier renewed the notification after rectifying the discrepancies in the petition filed by the children’s mother. The state government’s counsel told the court that all the required documents have already been handed over to the CBI. The government also told the court that it would extend all necessary cooperation to the CBI to investigate the case.
