The polio vaccination distribution day has been shifted to January 31

Thiruvananthapuram: National Immunization Day for children under the age of five has been postponed. The polio vaccination day has been postponed from January 16 to January 31. The move comes in the wake of the launch of the Covid vaccine across the country on January 16.

The decision to postpone National Immunization Day came after a meeting between the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the President’s Office.

The country’s largest covid vaccine distribution process is in the country on Saturday. Covishield manufactured by the Serum Institute, and Covaxin, manufactured by Bharat Biotech, are licensed for immediate use. The first phase of the vaccine will be given to health workers and Covid frontline fighters.
