Thiruvananthapuram: Giving new hope to the film industry, the theaters opened in the state from today. Tamil movie Master starring Vijay is coming to the theaters for the first release. The exhibition was held in full compliance with Covid standards. Preliminary estimates put the loss to Malayalam cinema due to the closure of the Covid era at over Rs 1,000 crore. The last movie to hit theaters was on March 4, 2020. Although Kappela, Two States, Kozhipore, and Varkey were released, Covid terminated the screening due to fears. The film industry has been in crisis for the past nine months since March 11. The Vishu, Easter, Onam, and Christmas seasons have also gone through a severe crisis.
