Thiruvananthapuram: State Election Commissioner V Bhaskaran has said that stern action will be taken against those who distribute or sell liquor after 6 pm on Sunday in the districts where the first phase of elections will be held on December 8.
Control is in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Idukki districts. The commission directed the district election officials and the police to tighten the check.
The first phase of the election campaign in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Idukki districts will end at 6 pm on Sunday. There are a total of 88,26,620 voters in the five districts. Of these, 41,58,341 were males, 46,68,209 were females and 70 were transgender. There are 25,584 candidates in the fray.
