India provides Dornier to the Maldives to monitor Chinese movements

New Delhi: India has provided a Dornier to the Maldives as part of a drive to monitor the movements of Chinese ships.

The aircraft will be used to strengthen joint surveillance between India and the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. The Indian Navy has trained seven people, including the pilots and engineers of the aircraft. The Dornier aircraft was delivered based on an agreement between the Maldives and the Central Government.

The aircraft will also be used to curb illegal fishing, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. The Donier aircraft can also be used for counter-terrorism operations.
