Mumbai: A three-story building collapsed in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra. Eleven people died. Preliminary information is that about 25 people are trapped in the building. The Jilani residential complex in the Patel compound area collapsed. Twenty people were rescued by locals who fled the scene.
The National Rapid Action Force is conducting rescue operations. The building collapsed around 3.30 is while people were asleep. The building had 21 flats. It is said that the building was constructed in 1984.
