Heavy Rain; Four drown to death in Mumbai

Mumbai: Four persons, including a Malayali student, were drowned when they came to see the waterfall in Kharghar following heavy rains. The deceased are Nehajain, Shweta Venkatesh, Nand, classmates of Arathi Nair hailing from Palakkad. One student went missing. Arati’s family lives in Navi Mumbai.

Heavy rains flooded the low-lying areas of Mumbai. Mulshi and Pavana dams in Pune have been opened. Rain also affected train, flight services.

Local train services were disrupted due to water on track at Ambernath, Badalapur, and Chunabatti. Central and Western Railways has canceled 15 services.
