New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by Rs 2 per liter, driven by rising prices of essential commodities including food articles. Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will increase the excise duty by Rs 1 per liter and Rs 1 for infrastructure cess. The decision to increase fuel prices was announced in the budget amid rising global oil prices.
