On the 10th anniversary of Pulimurugan—the blockbuster that redefined box office equations in Malayalam cinema—prominent producer Tomichan Mulakuppadam has announced a massive new project. Sharing the news on Facebook, he revealed that Mulakuppadam Films has acquired the production rights to Anna, a film originally launched in the 1990s but left incomplete due to various reasons.
Interest in the long-abandoned project resurfaced recently after “Yavanakathayile Idayakanyake,” a iconic song from the original film, went viral once again through the movie Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. This sparked widespread curiosity and discussions surrounding Anna.
Prompted by this renewed interest, Tomichan Mulakuppadam decided to revive the story three decades later, bringing it to the modern era with a fresh team of writers. Details regarding the film’s director, star cast, and crew will be officially announced in due course.
