KOCHI: Popular South Indian actress Mamitha Baiju has been admitted to a hospital after suffering from high fever and related complications. Doctors attending to the actress have advised strict bed rest and restricted travel, forcing her to cancel her upcoming visit to Australia.
According to medical sources, Mamitha was diagnosed with high fever, severe body pain, allergies, and asthma-related distress. Owing to her medical condition, doctors instructed her to refrain from long-distance travel, leading to the cancellation of her scheduled international trip this week.
Misses Clyde Malayali Onam Event
The actress was scheduled to attend an Onam event organised by the Clyde Malayali Association in Australia as the chief guest.
The event organizers shared a video message recorded by Mamitha from her hospital bed, in which she expressed her regret over missing the event.
“Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it as scheduled. I am currently admitted to the hospital. Had there been any way out, I would have definitely come, but the doctors have strictly advised complete rest,” Mamitha said in the video message.
She added that missing the opportunity to meet the Malayali diaspora in Australia was a huge personal loss and requested understanding from her fans and the event organizers.
Success at the Box Office
The news comes at a time when Mamitha’s latest movie, ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, is enjoying a successful theatrical run across Kerala and international markets.
