THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala state government has officially announced the Onam vacation dates for schools across the state. This year, school students in Kerala will get a 9-day Onam break starting from August 22 to August 30, departure from the customary 10-day holiday period.
Schools will close for the festive break following the completion of the term-end Onam examinations.
Kerala School Onam Exam Timetable
The General Education Department has scheduled the first term (Onam) examinations prior to the holidays:
- LP, UP, & High School Classes: Examinations will begin on August 13 and conclude on August 20.
- Higher Secondary Classes: Onam exams will commence on August 14.

Note for Students & Parents: Schools will function as usual on August 21 after the exams conclude. The institutions will close for the official Onam holidays at the end of the school day on August 21 and will reopen on August 31.
