Popular Malayalam YouTuber Dhanya S.R., widely known by her social media moniker Helen of Sparta, has been booked by the Kasaragod police for alleged drunk driving and reckless behavior on the road. Following widespread reports of her arrest, the influencer took to social media to clarify that she is not in jail and promised to share the full story soon.
The Incident in Kasaragod
According to regional media reports, the incident took place during the early hours of Thursday in Kumbla, Kasaragod. Highway patrol police spotted a car parked in a designated ‘No Parking’ zone near Anangoor.
When officers approached the vehicle for a routine inspection, the driver reportedly sped away in a manner that endangered public safety. The police chased the vehicle for a brief distance before intercepting it at Kumbla Bandiyod around 2:00 AM. Upon stopping the vehicle, police identified Dhanya S.R. at the wheel. Subsequent breathalyzer tests confirmed the presence of alcohol, leading the Kumbla Police to register a case against her for drunk driving and evading law enforcement.
Helen of Sparta Slams Rumors: “I Am Not in Jail”
As news of the police case spread rapidly across social media platforms, speculation mounted that the YouTuber had been remanded into custody. Breaking her silence, Helen of Sparta posted an update on her official handle to put the rumors to rest.
“I am not in jail,” Dhanya clarified in her social media post. She further assured her followers that she would be releasing a detailed video explaining the sequence of events and providing more context about the incident.
