Bollywood powerhouse Vidya Balan has once again won the hearts of Malayali audiences by sharing a hilarious Instagram reel recreating one of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic comedy tracks. This time, the actress took on the legendary Urvashi’s unforgettable “Take some vendakka, cut cut cut” cooking scene from the hit movie Achuvinte Amma.
Sharing the video on her social media, Vidya added a humble and sweet caption: “An imitation of one of my absolute favorites Urvashi Chechi. Chechi, please forgive me.”
Known for her impeccable comic timing and expressive face, Vidya perfectly lip-synced to Urvashi’s highly entertaining English-mixed Malayalam dialogue where she instructs her on-screen daughter (played by Meera Jasmine) on how to cook. Within hours, the reel went viral, drawing massive praise from both fans and celebrities.
Acclaimed filmmaker Anjali Menon joined the celebration in the comments, suggesting that both powerhouses should share the screen, writing: “You two must do a film together!” Netizens quickly chimed in, calling them two “Original Gangsters (OGs)” of Indian cinema working in perfect harmony—one with her legendary voice and the other with flawless facial expressions.
This isn’t the first time Vidya Balan has shown her love for Malayalam cinema. In the past, her recreation of Harisree Ashokan’s hilarious “Chappathi venda, choru mathi” scene from Punjabi House had also gone viral.
