KANNUR: Kerala Health Minister Veena George, who was undergoing treatment at the Pariyaram Medical College after sustaining injuries during a protest by KSU activists, has been discharged. The Minister has been shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for further treatment.

The decision to move the Minister was taken during an online Medical Board meeting held late last night. Following the board’s assessment that her health condition has improved and her blood pressure has returned to normal, she left for Thiruvananthapuram by road in her private vehicle at around 4:00 AM today.

Meanwhile, the police investigation team is expected to seek permission again today to record the Minister’s statement. Previous attempts were postponed due to her health condition. To assist with the investigation, the probe team has also submitted an application to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) requesting CCTV footage from the site where the KSU protest took place.

The incident occurred during a protest march by KSU activists in Kannur, which resulted in injuries to the Minister and subsequent legal action against the protesters.
