New Delhi: After a five-year suspension, direct flight services between India and China are resuming.
Chinese Embassy spokesperson Yu Jing confirmed that the first Indigo flight from Kolkata to Guangzhou will depart on Sunday at 10 p.m.
A Shanghai–New Delhi route will start from November 9, with three weekly flights planned on each route.
Flight operations were halted following the Doklam standoff, later extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Galwan clashes.
The decision follows recent positive diplomatic engagements between the two nations during the SCO Summit in Tianjin last month.
